Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India's premier recruitment agency. UPSC conducts lot of recruitment exams, one such exam is the UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination). The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) also reserves some vacancies for candidates belonging to reserved categories. The vacancies released by are reserved vacancies each year for people who are disable in the following categories:
(a) Blindness and low vision.
(b) Deaf and hard of hearing.
(c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy (cured), dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy
(e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (c) including deaf-blindness.

Lateral entry means appointment of experts and specialists, from private sector to government organizations and ministries. Government plans to recruit outstanding individuals, with expertise in economic affairs, financial services, agriculture, revenue, cooperation along with civil aviation, road transport and highway etc for the benefit of the country and the system. This means that candidates who are not part of the bureaucratic set up or any administrative post are selected through the lateral entry.
The lateral entry notification from various ministries are released on the official website of UPSC. Interested candidates can apply from the website and they will be called for interview post which selected candidates are recruited as per the UPSC vacancy for lateral entries.
