Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases how many students appeared in the CTET exam through the official notification after announcement of the result. Nearly 23 to 25 lakhs candidates appeared for the CTET exam every year for each session. Out of that approximately 8 lakhs candidates appear for paper 1 while for paper 2 around 12 lakhs candidates appear for each session.

CBSE conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Exam twice every year. Those who want to apply for the teaching post of Class I to V in state and central government schools have to write Paper I and those who want to become teachers of Class VI to VIII have to write Paper II. Candidates who qualify the CTET exam will be issued a CTET Eligibility Certificate with lifetime validity.

CBSE prescribes the minimum marks that a candidate must score in the CTET exam to be considered qualified. The CTET qualifying marks by category are as follows:

Candidates who qualify in the CTET exam will be issued the CTET eligibility certificates. With the CTET certificates they will be eligible to apply for government teacher recruitment and as well in private schools. Those who get the CTET eligibility certificate can teach grades I to VIII. The CTET certificate will be valid for a lifetime. Candidates will be able to download the CTET eligibility certificate in digital format through Digilocker.
