The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET exam twice a year at the central level to determine the eligibility of teachers for Classes I to VIII. The shortlisted candidates will get the CTET eligibility certificate which will be valid for a lifetime. Applicants can apply in CTET Paper I (for I to V) or CTET Paper II (for VI to VIII) or both according to their eligibility.

Paper I: Applicants must pass the senior secondary (or equivalent) with the minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for reserved category) along with 2- a year D.El.Ed or 4-year B.El.Ed. or B.Ed.
Paper II: Graduation passed or appearing with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with 2- year D.El.Ed or 4-year B.El.Ed. or B.Ed. Students with senior secondary school certificate along with 4-yr B.El.Ed (passed or in final year), 4-year BA/B.Sc,/B.A.Ed. (passed or in final year)
CTET Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CTET

CTET Exam Pattern
According to the CTET exam pattern, the exam will now be conducted in online mode. There will be two papers with 150 multiple choice questions in each paper. Paper I of CTET is designed for the candidates applying for Class I to V whereas Paper II is for Class VI to VIII. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer attempted by students. However, there is no negative marking so students can attempt all the questions for a better score and meet the CTET cut off to qualify.
